Certificate versus Certificate

Decision time...always is the hardest part for me....to start something, include something new in my life take me a lot of thinking. Now I am on a point where I have to decide what I will be doing, what kind of goals I want to archive in this course...I have lots of options....from Awards...through Certificates ...till Diploma. Each unit provides me with the choice of tasks, but the main thing is what I really think is will be good for me. Its will be a lot easier if I was just random person wanted to join a course to get some small ideas about photography and in the end get some simple prove of it. I learned a lot of things in my life time after time, for a different reasons...once I was very close to became an artist, but I choose another path in my way...and this time (even not sure if I ever succeed) I want to include photography as main subject of my life.

So and that  means Award is definitely not for me, as I willing to learn and prove myself I have to go at least for Certificate. I would like to go for Diploma, but I am afraid I wont be having much time to complete all the tasks what need to be done, so that leaves me with Certificate option, and choice is big...

After all yes and no....I choose to go for :
Level 2 Certificate in Photography and Photo Imaging,
which includes two Mandatory units and option of two from six Optional units.
Mandatory units:
                           210  Principles of photo image output;
                           211  Photo image presentation;
 Optional units:
                          201  Introduction to the photo imaging industry;
                          205  Photo imaging equipment and materials;
                          212  Working to a photo imaging project brief;
                          206  Principles of photo image capture;
                          207  Principles of Studio photography;
                          208  Principles of location photography.

From Optional units I decided to go definitely for 206, and  still I need to decide between 205 or 212,  but for that reason I have to speak with my tutor first...I understood very well 205 requirements  but 212 sounds challenging as well.

My favorite for sure is 206  Principles of photo image capture....What provided me with a choice of themes from- People, Build environment, Still life, Nature, Reportage, alternative

 I choose Landscapes and Close-ups in nature.

Since I joined course in September I was looking forward to the spring, my favorite season of all....when everything is so beautiful and colorful. I cant wait to get out of town in some open space or maybe for a walk in the forest ... get closer to cherry tree flowers or capture a bluebells in a wood...

Bet is still long time to go in in a mean time I have to concentrate my attention of research and each weeks task set up by a tutor, which is very interesting.

Same as in Level 1 I need to write a research about famous photographers....at least five an a lot more professional manner...300 words required to record and evidence what I will find in text, images, audio and videos which are relevant to the theme or genre of photography I choose.

All research for each photographer has to consist of my own thoughts, ideas and critical analysis and must not consist of any ‘cut and paste’ information, (:) ) as this cannot be marked as my own..... and also all research must be compared to the work I have produced.

Maybe I a bit overestimate my ability to complete the all requirements, but I really wiling to do so, not in order to get as many credit points possible, but to in order to learn and prove myself to myself....so wish me good luck!!

  1. Hi
    We will sit and go through the units together and make sure that you are working towards the most suitable units and themes.
    This is vital to also make sure that you are not attempting to take on too much for the length of the course.

  3. Hi
    Have we clarity on exactly which units you are doing so we can push on with advising you on the correct research to undertake.
    Can we discuss this as as the weeks go by time marches on and we need to make sure of these units.
